housewalking : 5

Last week I took a drive with a friend down Milwaukee's beloved Lake Drive. This drive is known for its unique and beyond-your-dreams old-world mansions. You want to envy the owners, but you can't--you're left to appreciate how beautiful these homes are in their composition and longevity.

Here's a snapshot of one of the tudor homes with a common Lake Drive theme: servants quarters/carriage house. Many of these estates include a separate structure such as this one. Hawk and I have to laugh about them because they're larger than our Mikkey (1350 sq. ft)!

Much of our view of the house is obstructed by the first building, or it may be that the rest of the home continues toward the lake rather than across our horizon. Either way, I really wish I could see the inside!
