tidying up

I'm still new at blogging, so I've tidied up today's post a bit so you can jump more quickly to Marta's post.

As I write this at 7:16am, I have already had a full day of breakfast in bed thanks to my blue-eyed & bearded Hawk (crispy bacon, blueberry-pomegranate juice, blueberry pancakes, egg whites, and toast with raspberry preserves jam), sipped my first and last cup of coffee this Lent, and I've read two chapters of The Elegance of the Hedgehog. Soon I will be calling my mother to thank her for the work she did, this day, thirty years ago.

{blogging 30 challenge} I approached just a handful of our favorite bloggers and asked them to honor us with their own response to this challenge: write about anything from design to homemaking to family and in your own way, incorporate the number 30 into your post. I hope you appreciate their responses as much as we have!

  2. Happy Birthday, my little Peach! I was so surprised to pick up the phone and hear you singing Happy Birthday to ME! But it was such a warm and loving surprise and so nice to be appreciated for giving life. It was my pleasure, by the way, and if God asked me to go back and do it again I would do it in a heartbeat. Your smiles and bounces and joy of discovery filled my own life with so many happy moments. Now you are 30 and in the beginning of your own marriage and, as you said, sometime in this decade you will start your own family, God willing. Your 30 ways to have a happy marriage are excellent, just keep on doing them, especially after the babies start coming. (I used to wrap love notes in your Dad's sandwiches-but he doesn't take his lunch anymore). May God bless you on this happy day. Have a great dinner with your Hawk tonight. I love you so very much and I always will.
PS I talked to you all the time BEFORE you were born. Wish you could remember that far back.
