i know, what is happening?

Well, I'm experimenting with html code. Why I'm doing this when we're running the 30 challenge? Because at 30 (which I can now say with truth on my lips), I want to learn how to create a third column in the blog.

And now I have, thanks to this post by ThreeColumnBlogger.

I know this is visually more interesting for readers. Rather than wait until you're not around, I thought it would be helpful for you to see that it can be done. In 8 minutes, to be precise!

Later in the month, I'm going to throw out a few new header logos for you to vote on. Or at least comment on. Well, probably vote on.

Happy Thursday!

  1. I am curious if you know why three columns is more visually appealing? Is it like the rule of thirds in photography? Do we humans just like things in 3's?

  2. Kjo,

Thank you so much for asking! I've no conclusive evidence of the 3-column look trumping others, but you may be on to something with the rule-of-three photography reference. Personally, I enjoy seeing more all at once rather than scrolling down endlessly to view others' links, photos, etc.
With that said, I moseyed on over to your site and found it to be quite visually appleaing. You're great! And you've got the two-column look. So perhaps it is personal preference.
I'm glad you stopped by! It's lovely to have new blogging friends.

  3. Keep This Hawks Nest with the nest as a header--its perfect!!! Don't chage it! Also, the 3 column effect is too crowded.

  4. How about now? I adjusted the margins for more space in between... I'm learning! Thoughts?
